It proudly represents India on the international stage as a member of the Federation Aeronautique Internationale (FAI). The primary objectives of the ACI are to foster, safeguard, and advance the study and practice of aeronautics and aviation in India, as well as to serve as a central hub for information and guidance on all matters related to aeronautics. Additionally, the ACI serves as the national authority for organizing aero sports competitions, events, and regulations across India. Although its activities were temporarily halted during World War II, the club was re-established as the Aero Club of India Ltd. following India's independence in 1947.
