Acelitys products are sold in over 80 countries. Its Advanced wound therapeutics unit produces products including negative pressure wound therapy, negative pressure surgical incision management, and epidermal harvesting. Its Regenerative medicine unit produces products encompassing regenerative and reconstructive acellular tissue matrices for repair of soft tissue defects, as well as autologous fat grafting solutions. Acelity began as Kinetic Concepts Inc., a medical technology company founded in 1976. In October 2013, KCI acquired Systagenix Wound Management, originally Johnson Johnsons professional wound care business for 485 million. In September 2014, KCIs parent company announced that KCI, LifeCell and Sytagenix would operate under one global medical technology brand known as Acelity. Acelity was acquired by Apax partners for 6.3B in 2011.
