AltAir Fuels develops aviation fuel made from renewable biomass. It develops and operates projects for the production of low carbon fuels and chemicals derived from sustainable feedstocks. For its first commercial project, AltAir has partnered with Alon Energy USA to use its existing refinery in Paramount, California retooling idled refining equipment. Through process technology developed by Honeywells UOP, AltAir is retrofitting the existing refinery to convert non-edible natural oils and agricultural waste into approximately 40 million gallons of low-carbon, advanced biofuels and chemicals per year.
