Rotundus develops a ball-shaped rolling robot named Groundbot. The ball shaped robot has a height of 0.6m and width of 0.8m and weighs about 25 kilos. The shell of robot has a high-friction coating which enables it to overcome uneven terrain. It can move at a speed of 10kmph and can operate for 8-16 hours on a single charge. It provides an AR based UI to the operator and relays live feed in 2D or 3D. The robot can be used for surveillance of airports, warehouses, harbors, power plants etc. The company was setup as a spin-off from Angstrom Space Technology Center, Uppsala University. Angstrom Aerospace made a strategic investment in Rotundus in Sept 2006.
