Shopo is headquartered in Gurugram, India. It is registered at Gurugram, Haryana, India.
Shopo is a funded company, having raised a total of $100K across 2 funding rounds to date.
Shopo, acquired by Snapdeal in 2013, is a zero commission mobile marketplace launched in 2015. Anyone can sell products on the platform without the need of documentation like PAN, VAT etc. and even ID cards. Sellers can click photos, add prices, categorization (e.g. jewellery), description details, upload products and make an offer. Customers can browse through the products, chat with the seller, get more information, negotiate for a better price, make an offer to the seller (which the seller can accept or reject), arrange for a pick up and close transaction after the product is delivered. Used goods can also be sold on the platform and are indicated as such in the product listing. The company acts only as a mediator between buyers and sellers and so invoicing, payments, shipping, and delivery should be managed by the seller itself. Was earlier an online marketplace for traditional Indian designers. Snapdeal acquired Shopo and shut its portal in May 2013. Was backed by Sequoia Capital and angel investor Sashi Reddi before its acquisition. Snapdeal shutdown Shopo in Feb 2017 as part of its scaling down efforts.
Shopo has 5 investors. Key investors include Snapdeal, Seeders, SRI Capital, Sequoia Capital, and Sashi Parvatha Reddi.
