Smart Medical systems produces medical devices for gastroenterology and GI endoscopy. Its G-EYE and NaviAid product families have both FDA approval and the european CE Mark. The G-EYE endoscope consists of a standard endoscope, having a permanently integrated, reusable balloon at its bending section which allows for increased diagnostic yield during colonoscopy, endoscope stabilization during therapy, and extended operating range in the colon, small bowel and entire GI tract. The NaviAid AB (Advancing Balloon) device provides for on demand Ileoscopy upper enteroscopy while using standard endoscopes. It is an on-demand device, which can be introduced through the tool channel of the endoscope during a procedure (colonoscopy or EGD), without the need for pre-mounting or interrupting the normal course of examination. Once inflated ahead of the endoscope and anchored in the bowel, the device is used as a rail on which the endoscope is advanced, replacing pushing by guidance. The Navi Aid inflation systems consist of a system wherein the Balloon inflation pressure is regulated and continuously monitored, to ensure optimal anchoring of the inflated balloon to the intestinal walls while maintaining ultimate safety. SMART Medical Systems was granted the Frost Sullivan 2013 New Product Innovation Award.
