24 days agoA sector specific SEZ, DTA and IIA are being implemented over an area of 1750 Ha in Khed near Pune district in the state of Maharashtra by Khed Economic Infrastructure Private Limited, a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) jointly promoted by Kalyani Group (KG) and Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC). On December 18, 2009, KEIPL signed a lease agreement with MIDC for 1,200 Ha of land, followed by another agreement for 505.62 Ha of land on June 30, 2010. This lease is valid for an initial period of 95 years, with the option to extend for a further 95 years. Initially, the company had planned to set up a multiproduct SEZ in 1,000 Ha of land. However, the plan has now been revised to establish a 100Ha SEZ and develop the remaining 900Ha as an Independent Industrial Area (IIA) under the Maharashtra Industrial Policy, 2013. KEIPL has also received the necessary No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Government of Maharashtra for the final denotification of 655 acres.
