9 days agoTamilnadu Newsprint & Papers Limited, according to the credit rating report, was established in 1979 by the State Government of Tamil Nadu and the Industrial Development Bank of India (IDBI) to produce newsprint and printing and writing paper (PWP) using bagasse as the main source of fiber. The plant, located in Kagithapuram, Tamil Nadu, has a production capacity of 4.00 lac tons per annum (TPA). Currently, the Tamil Nadu government holds the majority stake of 35.32% after the sale of IDBI's shares. In addition, a new board plant has been constructed near Trichy with an annual capacity of 2.00 lak MTPA, which began operations in May 2016. The company has been awarded ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 certifications.
